Algaetech International Sdn Bhd, Malaysia has signed an Memorandum of Understanding with IIMSAM for the development of World Spirulina Program (in Malaysia and Asian Region). The mandate is to eradicate and endeavor to sensitize the global community of the urgent need of ending acute malnutrition and actuate collective efforts for the same by mainstreaming the use of Spirulina.

With our support and initiatives would help save the lives of almost forty-thousand children that suffer and perish every day from acute malnutrition. It would also empower the lives of almost a billion that are affected negatively by malnutrition worldwide.

Algaetech has been invited and participated in Dialogue with Dr. Rita Cowell-US Presidential Science Envoy to South Asia & Southeast Asia and Prof. Emeritus Dato¡¯ Dr Zakri Abdul Hamid – Science Advisor to the Prime Minister / Joint-Chairman, MIGHT ¡°Stronger Ties between Malaysia and US for Science, Technology and Innovation Collaboration¡± on 25 July 2011 at MIGHT building Cyberjaya organized by Global Science and Innovation Advisory Council.

Student from Cambridge University conducted a single-day site visit to Algaetech Laboratory Research and Production Centre, Technology Park Malaysia on 27 June 2011

20th April 2011, Malaysia Industry Government Group of High Technology conducted a single-day site visit to Algaetech Laboratory Research and Production Centre, Technology Park Malaysia.

The MIGHT team was comprised of Major (R) Zailani Safari and seven other team members.
Algaetech team welcomed MIGHT team approximately 10.00am at the site and proceeded with Presentation Session in the meeting room.

The session started with a quick introduction presentation of Algaetech company background, conducted by Tuan Syed Isa. He then further presented the Algaetech discoveries on algae biodiesel technologies and productions.
The program continued with a presentation on Technology Depository Agency (TDA) Offset Program, conducted by Major (R) Zailani Safari. Both teams had a discussion on TDA Offset Program which lasted until 11.15 am.

The session in the meeting room ended with a video presentation by Algaetech at 11.40 am.

The site visit was further continued with laboratory tour lead by Algaetech Head of Research and Development, Miss Sivasankari.

Algae production processes was demonstrated to MIGHT team members, starting with culturing, and ended with biodiesel productions.
